An adventurous multi-faceted creator, a nature lover, a natural born educationist and a true sound alchemist. Miguel Hiroshi was born in Kamakura, Japan, to parents from southern Spain’s Andalusia, the region most known for flamenco.

Hiroshi sought the teachings from world percussion masters Niti Ranjan, Yogesh Samsi and Ghatam V. Suresh (India); Los Rumberos de Cuba, El Piri y Los Chinitos de la Corea (Cuba); Zohar Fresco (Israel); Misirli Ahmet (Turkey); Ernest Maçanet (Barcelona) and Rubem Dantas (Brazil). Miguel Hiroshi then earned a bachelor’s in World Music and taught World Percussion at Rotterdam Conservatory. Also in the Netherlands, he completed a Master’s degree in Jazz at the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Through experimentation and discovery, Hiroshi developed masterful sound sensitivity, the skill for creating percussive resonance from almost anything his hands touched. A deep connection to the invisible world of sound gives Miguel Hiroshi the ability to create Rhythm, Melody and Harmony with a large list of percussion, wind, string and electronic instruments.

Miguel Hiroshi’s first album, Oniriko Orinoko, was recorded in 2018 between Europe and the United States, and was inspired by a powerful dream Hiroshi had about one of South America’s great rivers, the Orinoco. In early 2020 his EP Tani Avartanam come out, rhytmical and percussive music inspired on southern Indian Karnatic Music.

Hiroshi’s next albums are a work-in-progress that explores soundscapes with different intentions: dance, introspection, meditation and healing.

He has also toured in more than 40 countries around the world performing in renowned venues and festivals such as Concertgebouw and Bimhuis (Amsterdam), NorthSea Jazz Festival (Rotterdam), Benaroya Hall (Seattle), Drom (NYC), Katara Oud Festival (Doha), flamenco festival (Mont de Marsans), Nymes Flamenco Festival (Nymes), L’auditori (Barcelona), Boom Festival (Portugal), Fex (Granada), Etnosur (Jaen), Sziget Festival (Budapest), Auditorio Black Berry (Mexico City), International Festival of Carthage (Tunisia), International Cirque Festival (Montreal), among many others.

Currently, Miguel is Madrid based spending his life on Music creation. Parallel to his own music production he works as a music producer and composer for other artists and develops new content for the MHMA (Miguel Hiroshi Music Academy) from his music studio in Madrid.

As a teacher, Miguel possesses a worked-up knowledge and tools to influence anybody into creating music and going deeper into it regardless their skills or level.

To Hiroshi’s way of seeing, Music is a game, music is joy, freedom, magic, a connection with the Divine, music is humor, Mathematics, music is the most contagious universal language.

Miguel has become a respected versatile multi-instrumentalist, music producer, music creator and composer and music teacher.

Kamakura-born Spanish percussionist Miguel Hiroshi's masterpiece will be released on vinyl following the CD! Shortly after birth, he returned to La Alphara in the natural valley of Granada, Spain. When he started his music under the influence of his grandfather who was a musician, he became fascinated by his percussion and rhythm. By becoming familiar with percussion instruments from around the world, including Africa, the Mediterranean Sea, the Caribbean Sea, South America, and India, Miguel has acquired the skills and sensibilities to create percussive resonance from everything he touches. He was particularly fascinated by hang drums and further expanded the unique musicality he had cultivated so far. The result was the first album "Oniriko Orinoko".

A total of 10 acoustic, ambient, and sometimes spiritual masterpieces that swallow the world of African and Indian music as well as flamenco and jazz. It is a masterpiece with supple vitality that resonates with the hang drums and thumb pianos that can be played coolly and the ever-expanding modern jazz.
