This is it, the live, double LP where the magical Tony Bennett created indelible memories! Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall is the Tony Bennett album to buy for any Bennett fan or those just introduced to his music. And you'll never hear or experience it presented in finer fashion than from this outstanding reissue by Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings!

Analogue Productions has given Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall the deluxe reissue treatment. Starting with premier mastering by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog tapes. Then plating and presssing by Gary Salstrom and the crew at Quality Record Pressings, where the finest quality LPs in the world are pressed. But it doesn't stop there: they've expanded and enhanced the original studio photography, which was supplied by Sony to their graphic designers. And they've wrapped up the whole package in a deluxe "old-school" tip-on gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing!

Originally recorded in 1962, Tony Bennett at Carnegie Hall is a testament to Bennett's live vocal ability. Backed by the Ralph Sharon Orchestra, Bennett moves far beyond his standard musical catalogue. Along with standards like "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" and "Just in Time," Bennett reached out to create great medleys such as "(I Like New York in June) How About You/April in Paris," that automatically become his as soon as they are performed. Altogether there are 28 tracks on the album. Most remarkable is the clarity of the recording of the concert. If not for the tremendous applause of the audience, you could swear that Bennett had recorded each track in the studio. A masterpiece!

No one else in popular American music has recorded for so long and at such a high level of excellence as Tony Bennett. With millions of records sold worldwide and platinum and gold albums to his credit, Bennett has received seventeen Grammy Awards including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His initial successes came via a string of Columbia singles in the early 1950's, including such chart-toppers as “Because of You,” “Rags to Riches,” and a remake of Hank Williams “Cold, Cold Heart.” He had 24 songs in the Top 40, including “I Wanna Be Around,” “The Good Life,” “Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me)” and his signature song, “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” which garnered him two Grammy Awards. Tony Bennett is one of only a handful of artists to have new albums charting in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and now in the first two decades of the 21st century.

Following the runaway success of the aforementioned hit single “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” in early-1962, Tony Bennett was invited to perform at New York's famed Carnegie Hall for the third time. Pairing one of the greatest singers of all-time and one of the world's best music venues - as well as Bennett's favorite - yielded stunning results. Recorded on June 9, 1962, the revered Tony Bennett At Carnegie Hall album includes sublime studio quality renditions of “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” "Just in Time," "April in Paris," "Stranger In Paradise," "Blue Velvet," "Rags To Riches," and "Because Of You" - amidst production by Ernie Altschuler and first rate accompaniment from Ralph Sharon and His Orchestra, Al Cohn (tenor saxophone), Kenny Burrell (guitar) and Candido Camero (percussion).

"1962 was a landmark year for Tony Bennett. Despite the rise of rock and roll in the 1950's, his career had continued to develop, and the late 1950's saw a commercially and critically successful collaboration with Count Basie. This period culminated with the June 1962 Carnegie Hall appearance - his third at the Hall - that resulted in this celebrated live recording. 1962 was also the year he released what was to become his signature song - "I Left My Heart in San Francisco...he had the Carnegie Hall audience in the palm of his hand throughout this marathon concert..." - Carnegiehall.org

"The original of this double LP set was a sonic spectacular that now sounds veiled and somewhat distant compared to this stupidly, insanely spectacular sounding reissue cut for the first time from the edited original 3-track tape...This reissue is incredible in every way, starting with the cover art. The laminated cover's front and back photos are of far higher resolution and quality than the ones on the original. The same is true of the inside cover photos that include the full wide orchestra shot cropped on the original. But most importantly, the mastering by Ryan K. Smith from the original 3-track master tapes is nothing short of astonishing. It offers proof to anyone who will listen, both that AAA vinyl kills any digital format and that the art of recording, especially live recording, reached its pinnacle during the '50's and '60's...You'll be transported, entertained, wowed and amazed by both Bennett's and the orchestra's performances and the sonic documentation. It goes without saying that this is highly recommended, but I said it anyway." - Michael Fremer, Analog Planet
